With the STAEDTLER Mars micro carbon 255 mechanical pencil lead tube, STAEDTLER won the prestigious WorldStar Award 2006 presented by the World Packaging Organisation (WPO). The panel of judges was impressed by the tube’s innovative push-button mechanism for single-handed use and refilling of individual leads. The funnel-shaped tip for easy refilling has the advantages that the pencils leads don’t need to be touched and cannot be dropped or broken; and a convenient lead content window shows the amount of lead remaining in the tube. Awards are based on the judges' consensus that a package is superior in its own right and/or better in its class in execution or innovation by comparison. STAEDTLER received the national competition award, the Deutscher Verpackungspreis, 2006 in Germany. For more information on the WorldStar Packaging Award please visit http://www.worldpackaging.org
